Online sessions are held from the safety of your own home (or preferred location) at a time that is convenient for you. Please ensure that you are in a quiet place. You are free to use your phone, tablet or laptop for our sessions. Please ensure your microphone, speaker and headset are all functional. Good lighting and access to your face or the art work is preferred, especially during art therapy sessions.
Art supplies and a table and chair would be required for the art therapy sessions. A supply list will be provided to you or sessions can be curated to work with whatever supplies you have available.
You can either email, call, or use the button below to book sessions. We use the JaneApp, a PHIPA/PIPEDA compliant (Canadian HIPAA) booking system where you can also log in for your virtual sessions.
Sit closest to the modem/router as you possibly can. Sometimes a wall in-between can even cause a blocked connection.
Yes! Please feel comfortable to do as you need during your session. If you require a bathroom break, movement to de-stress your body, or have to take medication please let us know and I will gladly hold space for you while you return.
Unless the session calls for a dyadic or group therapy session, it is preferred that the session consists of the client(s) and therapist only to ensure confidentiality. If a child wishes for their parent to join in on a session, this can be discussed with the client and therapist within the session and a parent may join once consent is obtained.
As sessions can evoke all kinds of emotions and thoughts, I recommend you engage in a self-care activity post session (the day of and any days up until your next session). This can look like movement, breathing techniques, artwork, or even time in nature. Food, hydration, warm showers/baths, or connection with a loved one can also be beneficial. It is normal to feel a variety of emotions during and after a session. It is also possible that you may feel worse before you begin to feel better as many memories may be triggered during therapy.
