When you book a psychotherapy session you are booking a session to communicate with your therapist via your words, body language, and facial expressions. These are things your therapist may comment on or ask you about to help understand and support you better.
The purpose of this session is to explore what challenges you are facing, what goals you want to work on, and how to better manage and improve your emotional well-being. This is a safe space where you are not judged or analyzed, but are approached with curiosity. You are the expert of your life and your therapist is there to help you explore and identify the reasons you may be feeling anxiety, depression, stress, etc. The therapist will facilitate your journey by discussing and presenting varying view points as well as helping you focus on recurring themes and patterns in your life. Your therapist will provide appropriate techniques and skills that you can apply during the session and potentially homework that can be explored in real life situations if needed.
Your therapist will use various modalities to help you through your concerns and to reach your goals. This can be an individual modality or an eclectic approach. The modalities we are trained and/or certified in are: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solutions Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Emotions Focused Therapy (EFT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Person-Centered, Strengths-Based, Psychodynamic, and Neurorehabilitation.
These approaches are used in individual, family, and couples therapy, and are applicable to all ages (adults and children).
An individual session lasts either 30 minutes or 50 minutes and can be held in-person (location dependent) or virtually.
Individual Psychotherapy Session cost:
$155.00 per 50 minute session
$77.50 per 30 minute session.
Couples and family psychotherapy as well as workshops are also available.
Prices are available on our "Services" page.
Sessions are typically held on a weekly basis, but it is up to you as to how and when you want to schedule your sessions. Many people schedule standing appointments to reduce mental load and ensure they have a scheduled psychotherapy session.
All information discussed in sessions is confidential, unless the appropriate confidentiality limitations apply.
Online and in-person sessions available * Closed on Tuesdays and Sundays
All hours are subject to the therapists availabilities as different therapists have different schedules.
Please check in with your therapist for further assistance if required.
