About Me
Hello and welcome! I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), a Licensed Counselling Therapist (Candidate), and a Certified Canadian Counsellor. I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) with Honours from Yorkville University, as well as an MBA from the University of New Brunswick. My academic background also includes a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Accounting and a minor in Psychology from Saint Mary’s University, where I graduated cum laude. A few fun facts about me - I am a certified cake decorator and love baking, and I also enjoy traveling and all things Disney!
My Approach
I believe our lived experiences—no matter how painful—hold the potential for meaning and transformation. Therapy with me is a collaborative journey: I create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where we can explore your story, uncover your strengths, and work toward the goals that matter most to you. I take a trauma-informed, client-centered approach that honors your unique pace and needs.
Colleagues and loved ones often describe me as someone who takes the road less travelled—and I bring that spirit of openness and adaptability into my work. I know that charting your own path in life is challenging, but with the right support, it can also be empowering and deeply rewarding.
A Culturally-Informed Lens
As an immigrant from Bangladesh, I’m especially passionate about supporting newcomers and individuals navigating multiple cultural identities. I understand firsthand the challenges of culture shock, transition, and rebuilding your sense of belonging—and I’m here to walk that path with you.
Who I Work With
I offer therapy for youth (12+) and adults of all ages and backgrounds.
I speak English, Bengali, Urdu, and Hindi and can offer sessions in these languages as well.
My therapeutic experience has taken me across provinces and communities, particularly in nonprofit settings where I’ve supported individuals and families navigating life in a new country. I’ve worked with clients facing trauma, anxiety, depression, cultural transitions, relational conflict, immigration stress, ADHD, Autism, chronic illness, abuse, intimate partner violence, life changes, burnout, and more. I also support survivors of motor vehicle accidents and individuals living with certain personality disorders such as Borderline Personality Disorder.
Whether you're seeking support for your mental health, navigating a difficult transition, or looking for a space to simply be heard—I’m here to help.
